Dr. Peckham specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Parkinsonism, Essential tremor, Myoclonus, Tourette's syndrome/Tics, Ataxia, Dystonia, Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), Huntington's disease, Tardive Dyskinesia, and Psychogenic movement disorders.  Dr. Peckham also has extensive experience with the evaluation for and programming of deep brain stimulators and botulinum toxin injections.

Research Interests

    Clinical:  Developed expertise in diagnosing and treating movement disorders including Parkinson disease, essential tremor, ataxia, dystonia, restless legs syndrome and psychogenic movement disorders.  Proficient in procedures including: EMG-guided botulinum toxin injections (for dystonia {cervical, focal hand, leg and blepharospasm}, hemifacial spasm, and spasticity due to stroke) and DBS programming. 

    Research:  Specific research interests include: 1) genetic studies in focal dystonia and Parkinson disease, from the protocol planning and patient population selection to the hospital- and community-based collection of patient data and samples; 2) blink reflex recording and analysis; 3) visual and respiratory biofeedback; and 3) neurophysiologic recording and analysis of tremor and myoclonus.
